Council elections begin today.

This is a critical election for the Hobart City Council with a new Lord Mayor and key plans ready to roll out. The GEHL plan for the CBD, the Sandy Bay Cycle-way and the Hobart Rivulet Masterplan are all ready to be implemented. It will need capable committed Aldermen to ensure the results of these plans do improve the liveability of the city. It needs people who want a sustainable, vibrant city based on protecting natural values to vote.

Only around 50% of people usually vote. Your vote does matter and will determine the direction of the city. Voting is by postal ballot. Please ensure you vote and encourage your friends to vote by returning your ballots.
