Constituency Question - Community Solar Banks Program

Ms BURNET question to MINISTER for ENERGY and RENEWABLES, Mr DUIGAN

[11.16 a.m.]

My question is from Tiffany. The federal government's Community Solar Banks Program provides millions of dollars of federal money to the states to help households who can't install their own solar systems, which allows more households to benefit from renewable energy. We're in a cost-of-living crisis and electricity prices play a large part in that. The Joint Standing Committee on Energy highlighted that people on lower incomes are being left behind in the energy transition and recommended that the federal government address this. Minister, why is Tasmania the only state that hasn't signed up to the Australian Government's Community Solar Banks Program, which would help households, including rental households?
