Ms BURNET question to MINISTER for ENVIRONMENT and CLIMATE CHANGE, Mr BARNETT
This is a question from Skye, who's a resident of Clark and a year 12 student concerned about Tasmania's environmental future. The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that a strong El Niño is expected to peak later this year, bringing increased bushfire risk and more intense heatwaves to Tasmania. These pose serious risks to both communities and the environment. Skye's question is specifically about adaptation, not emissions reduction nor climate mitigation. Minister, what actions will you take to help Tasmanians and Tasmania's natural landscapes prepare for and adapt to the heightened bushfire and heatwave risks forecast for this summer?
