Department of State Growth -Job Cuts
Ms BURNET question to PREMIER, Mr ROCKLIFF
[11.17 a.m.]
My question is from my constituent Sarah, who was one of 1000 staff who joined an online meeting on Friday about the impact of the Department of State Growth's winding down of their jobs. They are already being asked to cover absences and backfill roles for which they are underqualified. The Department couldn't even promise that long-serving staff would receive more than two weeks' notice if their jobs were to be cut. Premier, how can workers be expected to continue to deliver services for Tasmanians while facing this level of job insecurity?
